Solvers and numerical schemes built to your physics.

When available models do not describe your problem, the model has to be written. We develop numerical schemes and large-scale OpenFOAM applications, from single custom boundary conditions to complete solver families — with full intellectual property transfer to you.

1 · What the service covers

Development work is delivered as maintainable, documented source that your own team can build on after handover — not a black box tied to us.

CAPABILITY WHAT IT MEANS IN PRACTICE
Custom solvers New solver applications for physics outside standard distributions — coupled, multiphase, reacting or user-defined constitutive behaviour.
Numerical schemes Discretisation and interpolation schemes developed and verified where standard options compromise accuracy or stability for your problem.
Boundary conditions and models Bespoke boundary conditions, source terms, turbulence and material models implemented against your experimental data.
Automation and workflow Scripted case generation, parameter sweeps and post-processing pipelines that make repeat studies routine rather than manual.
Verification suite Regression tests and analytical benchmark cases delivered alongside the code so future changes can be checked against known behaviour.

2 · How a project runs

01 Requirements and feasibility

We establish what the code must do, what evidence will prove it works, and whether an existing model can be extended instead of written from scratch.

02 Formulation review

The governing equations, discretisation and boundary treatment are documented and agreed with you before implementation begins.

03 Implementation

Development in staged increments, each compiled and tested, so progress is visible and course corrections are cheap.

04 Verification against benchmarks

Analytical solutions, published cases and — where available — your own measurements are used to demonstrate correctness and convergence order.

05 Handover and training

Source, build instructions, documentation and a working session with your engineers, so the code is usable without us.

01 Bespoke physics model

Implementing a constitutive or reaction model specific to your material or process, calibrated against laboratory data.

ENGAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIALITY

Development is scoped in stages with agreed milestones, so long programmes stay reviewable. Ongoing maintenance and extension can be covered under a yearly agreement.

All work is carried out by CompFlow personnel at company premises under strict bidirectional non-disclosure agreements, on in-house computing facilities including a 120-core cluster. Engagement is project-based (predefined deliverables and deadlines) or yearly (a set number of consultancy hours).
