Consulting at the core of our business model.
A complete outsourcing solution for computational fluid dynamics. An engineering description of your problem, the geometry or area to analyse and the operating flow conditions are enough to start — clients need no CFD knowledge of their own. Our verified methodology can reduce, and in some cases eliminate, expensive experimental work.
1 · What the service covers
Consulting projects run end to end: we take responsibility for the whole simulation chain and report results in terms your engineering team can act on directly.
| CAPABILITY | WHAT IT MEANS IN PRACTICE |
|---|---|
| Problem definition | Translating an engineering question into a simulation plan — domain extent, operating points, success criteria and the accuracy actually needed for the decision. |
| Geometry preparation | CAD cleanup, defeaturing and fluid-volume extraction, including reconstruction from scans or drawings when native CAD is unavailable. |
| Meshing and solver setup | Mesh strategy and turbulence, thermal and multiphase model selection appropriate to the physics, with documented justification. |
| Verification and validation | Mesh-independence studies and comparison against experimental or published data before any result is reported as final. |
| Design iteration | Ranking of design variants across the operating envelope, so improvements are demonstrated rather than assumed. |
2 · How a project runs
We agree the question, the operating conditions, the deliverables and the deadline. A fixed-scope proposal follows, with acceptance criteria written down before work starts.
Geometry preparation, mesh generation and solver configuration, with an interim review so assumptions can be corrected early rather than at the end.
Mesh sensitivity and model checks close out before production runs, so any later discrepancy is attributable to physics rather than discretisation.
The full matrix of operating points is executed on in-house computing, including sensitivity cases where the answer is close to a limit.
A written report with methodology, results and recommendations, plus a walkthrough session with your engineers and the underlying case files on request.
3 · Typical engagements
Ranking a set of candidate geometries against a performance target before any prototype is committed to manufacture.
Diagnosing an in-service performance shortfall, hotspot or pressure loss and identifying the modification that resolves it.
Simulation prepared to the documentation standard expected by a certifying or approving body, with validation evidence agreed up front.
Narrowing a test matrix before wind tunnel or rig time so expensive measurement is spent only on the configurations that matter.
4 · What you receive
Consulting is our core business model — a complete outsourcing solution with predefined deliverables and deadlines. Yearly agreements cover a set number of consultancy hours for clients with continuous simulation needs.
All work is carried out by CompFlow personnel at company premises under strict bidirectional non-disclosure agreements, on in-house computing facilities including a 120-core cluster. Engagement is project-based (predefined deliverables and deadlines) or yearly (a set number of consultancy hours).
