Experimental verification, with certified instrumentation.

Simulation without an independent check is an opinion. We run wind tunnel campaigns, develop bespoke test rigs and deploy field telemetry using certified, calibrated equipment — through official collaborations with leading wind tunnels in central Europe, under full confidentiality.

1 · What the service covers

Measurement work is planned around the decision it supports: we define what has to be measured, to what uncertainty, before booking any facility time.

CAPABILITY WHAT IT MEANS IN PRACTICE
Wind tunnel testing Force, moment and surface-pressure campaigns with model support, blockage and boundary-layer effects accounted for in the analysis.
Test rig development Purpose-built rigs for components and subsystems where no standard facility reproduces the operating conditions.
Field telemetry Instrumented measurement on real assets — vehicles, structures, plant — where laboratory conditions cannot represent the real environment.
Uncertainty analysis Instrument, calibration and repeatability contributions quantified so a measured value is reported with a defensible band.
CFD correlation Simulation matched to the tested condition, not the idealised one, so agreement and disagreement both mean something.

2 · How a project runs

01 Measurement plan

The quantities, positions, operating points and target uncertainty are defined against the engineering decision the data will support.

02 Model and rig preparation

Test article design or adaptation, instrumentation layout and mounting, with interference effects considered from the start.

03 Calibration

All instrumentation calibrated and documented, with tare and reference measurements recorded before the campaign proper.

04 Campaign execution

Measurement runs with repeat points and drift checks built into the sequence, executed by CompFlow personnel under NDA.

05 Analysis and correlation

Corrections applied, uncertainty quantified, and results compared against simulation of the same condition in a single report.

3 · Typical engagements

01 Wind tunnel validation campaign

Force and pressure measurement on a scale or full-size model to validate a simulation methodology before it is trusted on new designs.

02 Component test rig

A bespoke rig characterising pressure loss, flow distribution or heat transfer for a component under its real operating range.

03 In-service telemetry

Instrumented measurement on an operating asset to establish real duty conditions rather than design assumptions.

04 Acceptance testing

Independent measurement to verify a supplier claim or contractual performance guarantee against an agreed standard.

ENGAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIALITY

Measurement campaigns are quoted per project including facility time. They are frequently combined with a consulting study so simulation and experiment are planned as one exercise rather than two.

All work is carried out by CompFlow personnel at company premises under strict bidirectional non-disclosure agreements, on in-house computing facilities including a 120-core cluster. Engagement is project-based (predefined deliverables and deadlines) or yearly (a set number of consultancy hours).
